What counts as an AI message?
One message from you to the AI — whether it answers directly or runs a dozen tools (searching your library, editing a draft, running statistics) along the way. One question, one unit, no matter how much work it triggers.
What does "unlimited (fair use)" mean on Max?
Use Kahubi as much as your research needs — we don't count your messages against a plan quota. Fair use means the allowance is for a person doing research, not for scripts, bots or resold access. In the rare case an account hits our internal safety threshold, you get a message asking you to contact us and we raise the limit for free once we've checked the usage is genuine.
How does yearly billing work?
Pay for 10 months, get 12 — two months free compared to paying monthly. Use the Monthly / Yearly toggle above the plans; the same applies inside the app under Settings → Billing. Yearly plans renew once a year and can be canceled anytime for the next cycle.
How does transcription work?
Transcription turns your recordings (interviews, lectures, voice notes) into text, counted per hour of audio. Paid plans include monthly hours: 10 on Starter, 100 on Growth and 300 on Max. Free accounts get a one-time 30 minute trial to test it.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades and cancellations at the end of the billing cycle. New purchases have a 30-day full-refund window — email team@kahubi.com.
Do you offer plans for labs or universities?
The Max plan covers most labs. For department- or university-wide licensing, trials for your whole email domain, or invoicing, contact us — we do this regularly for Avidnote and can set it up for Kahubi too.
